NASCAR K&N Pro Series East NJMP 2017

When NASCAR first announced they would race at New Jersey Motorsports Park in 2016, the buzz surrounding the news was cool for racing fans. There were a ton of people who came to watch Noah Gragson win the inaugural Just Drive.com 125 event.

Gragson has since moved up to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driving for Kyle Busch Motorsports. But this year’s event, however, was bigger.

After NASCAR got done with qualifying, the BMW cars had a race and it was a very good race to watch. This race featured a ton of BMW cars and one Porsche car. I couldn’t help but the car that won the race was number 007. Here is a close-up of the car that won the race.

After the BMW race ended, the autograph sessions and fan walk took place where fans could get autographs and take photos with NASCAR drivers such as Todd Gilliland, Harrison Burton, Jay Beasley, and more. This was packed with fans and the media who were covering this event.

There was also a BMX stunt show at the start/finish line. What blew me away was the fact that there was more coverage of this race than last year. NBCSN and South Jersey Speed were down there covering this event and that was cool to see. The fans were having a great time during this session. Where else can you go and meet your favorite drivers and talk to them for a bit?

You can’t get that in other sports unless you meet them at a collectible show while paying a lot of money just to get an autograph and talk to them.  It was great to meet drivers Todd Gilliland, Harrison Burton, and Ruben Garcia Jr. Here are the photos of meeting them.

After the autograph sessions and fan walk ended, all the fans returned to their seats or cars to finally watch the race get underway. The race got underway shortly after 4:45 pm and it was fun to watch. There was plenty of action going on throughout the race and the fans were on the edge of their seats or cars.

A total of five cars were out of the race. There even was a car that spun out leaving turn five. In the end, Will Rodgers dominated the race and passed Todd Gilliland to win the race. It was fun to be here again and I can’t wait to come back next year.
