Morgan and Satrustegui combine goals give Atlantic City FC First Win of the 2019 Season

Tavoy Morgan and Alex Satrustegui combined goals to give Atlantic City FC their first win of the season. Conference play began in the National Premier Soccer League on Saturday when the Atlantic City FC hosted the West Chester United SC at Silver Eagle Stadium in Egg Harbor Township.

Wasting no time in putting up points Forward Tavoy Morgan scored the first goal after the Aces were awarded a penalty kick in the twenty-sixth minute of play to put the Aces up 1-0. Four minutes later, Morgan would produce his second goal when he rammed the ball through a small slot sending the ball into the back of the net in the thirtieth minute to extend the Aces’ lead to 2-0.

Shortly after his second goal, Morgan went down with an injury and was substituted for Striker Alex Satrustegui with under seven minutes to play in the first half. The defensive line was held by Rich Balchan and Sebastian Capozucchi who formed an impenetrable line during the first half.

Before the first-half regulation ended, the referee then added three minutes for stoppage time. When the whistle blew to end the first half, the Aces went into halftime with a 2-0 lead.

The second half opened with an explosive start by the Aces who continued their push past the defense that translated into scoring opportunities by David Nigro and Matt Hendrickson that sailed just wide of the net.

Striker Alex Satrustegui, who replaced Morgan, kicked a beautiful goal in the 48th minute to extend the Aces’ lead to 3-0. West Chester United SC fired back in the sixty-second minute when Colin Fagan split the Aces’ defense to score the team’s only goal.

Goalie Matt Perrella, who formerly played for Bethlehem Steel, had a solid performance in the net, cutting off late-game attacks. The final goal of the game came from Striker Alex Satrustegui who would put the game away for the Aces in the 90th minute to give Atlantic City FC a 4-1 lead.

The referee would add two more minutes of stoppage time to the game before the play expired. Atlantic City FC would go on to defeat West Chester United SC by the final score of 4-1. With the win, Atlantic City FC’s record is 1-0, and they secured three points in the Keystone Conference standings.
