New Opportunities emerge for two former Atlantic City FC players

Two former Atlantic City FC players this week signed with new clubs as Forward Sidney Rivera signed with the Philadelphia Fury of the NISA and Defender Jonathan Firmino signed with Vitória Futebol Clube of the Primeira Liga.

Sidney Rivera played for the Atlantic City FC in its inaugural year in 2018. Rivera had six goals and three assists in his only year for Atlantic City FC. Before playing for Atlantic City FC, Rivera played college soccer at Old Dominion where he had eleven goals and one assist during his collegiate career.

He was drafted in the third round of the 2015 MLS SuperDraft by Orlando City SC. After being released by Orlando, Rivera then played for Puerto Rico FC of the NASL in 2016 and 2017 where he had a total of five goals.

After Atlantic City FC 2018 season was over, Rivera then went on to play for the Reno 1868 FC of the USL Championship league. This year, he played for FC Motown and Thang Quang Ninh FC of the V-League 1.

Jonathan Firmino played for Atlantic City FC this season and helped contributed to the team clinching the number one seed in the NPSL Keystone Conference and making its first-ever playoff appearance.

Firmino, a Union, NJ native, played college soccer at Georgian Court University in Lakewood, NJ where he had five goals and four assists during his collegiate career.
