Ocean City Nor’easters Deri Corfe named 2019 USL League Two MVP

The awards keep piling up for Ocean City Nor’easters Forward/Midfielder Deri Corfe. Last week, he was co-named the 2019 USL League Two Golden Boot. Yesterday, he was named part of the USL League Two Team of the Year, and today he received the highest honor of being named the 2019 USL League Two MVP.

This season, Corfe tallied a total of fourteen goals and three assists in twelve games he played this year leading the Nor’easters to a second-place finish in the Mid-Atlantic Conference. His totals for goals (14), points (31), and goals per game (1.17) were a new single-season club records. Corfe contributed to seventeen of Ocean City’s twenty-seven goals this year including a hat trick in a 4-1 win over Reading United.

Corfe is a native of Chester, England. He joined the Manchester City academy at 12 years old. He moved to the United States to begin his collegiate career at the University of Rio Grande but transferred to Wright State for his junior year in 2018.
