The Lehigh Valley Phantoms continued their homestand Friday night, welcoming the Binghamton Devils to the PPL Center in Allentown, PA. The Phantoms were looking to get their second win of the season.

A little over two minutes into the first period, the Devils’ Brandon Baddock was called for interference giving the Phantoms a power play. The Phantoms would capitalize on the power play when Mikhail Vorobyev (2) scored with assists from German Rubtsov (4) and Philippe Myers (3) to give the Phantoms a 1-0 lead.

The Phantoms would go on another power play when Devils Brett Seney was called for tripping. The Phantoms capitalized on the power play when Joel Farabee (3) lifted the puck past Devils goalie Gilles Senn to extend the Phantoms’ lead 2-0. Andy Andreoff (1) and Morgan Frost both assisted in Farabee’s goal.

After the Devils’ Fabian Zetterlund was called for a bench minor, with too many men on the ice, the Phantoms were once again on the power play for the third time. With under three minutes left in the first period, the Phantoms got their third goal when Andy Andreoff (1) got his first goal of the season with assists from Morgan Frost (2) and Cal O’Reilly to add to the Phantoms lead 3-0 as the first period came to a close.

After a scoreless second period with the Phantoms still leading 3-0, the Phantoms added an insurance goal with under six minutes left in the third period as Andy Andreoff (2) would get his second goal of the game with assists from Tyler Wotherspoon (1) and Morgan Frost (3) to further the Phantoms lead 4-0.

The Phantoms Kyle Criscuolo was sent to the penalty box with under two minutes left in the game for tripping. This allowed the Devils Ben Street to score on the power play with under a minute left to prevent the shutout with Joe Morrow (1) and Brett Seney (4) getting assists on Street’s goal to cut the Phantoms lead 4-1. The Phantoms would go on to defeat the Binghamton Devils 4-1.

The three stars of the game were Phantoms left wing Andy Andreoff, who had two goals and one assist. The second star went to forward Morgan Frost, who had three assists and the last star went to Phantoms goalie Alex Lyon, who made twenty-four saves out of twenty-five shots, allowing one goal.

The Phantoms return to the PPL Center tomorrow night as they welcome the Springfield Thunderbirds with the game starting at 7:05 pm.
