Philadelphia Lone Star FC joins USL League Two

The Philadelphia Lone Star FC announced they are joining USL League Two for the 2020 season. The Lone Star FC will continue to operate teams in the UPSL and the NPSL.

The team was initially called Junior Lone Star FC since its inception in 2001 before rebranding the team this year as the Philadelphia Lone Star FC. Philadelphia plays its home games at the South Philadelphia SuperSite.

President and Executive Director of Philadelphia Lone Star FC Paul Konneh on the Lone Star FC joining the USL League Two saying “We are always evolving to support this vision, and we feel that joining USL League Two will help us achieve this goal while also allowing our city, community, coaches, and executives to shine.”

Philadelphia Lone Star FC will play in the Mid-Atlantic Division and will compete against teams Reading United AC, Lehigh Valley United, and Ocean City Nor’easters. The Mid-Atlantic Division also features Long Island Rough Riders, New York Red Bulls U-23, Cedar Stars Rush, FA Euro New York, and Evergreen FC.

Vice President of USL League Two Joel Nash expressed his excitement on Philadelphia joining USL League Two, saying, “We couldn’t be more excited to welcome them to League Two, and to help them connect with more players and fans from the area than ever before.”
