USF 2000 and Indy Pro 2000 coming to New Jersey Motorsports Park October 9-11

For the first time since 2010, the USF 2000 and Indy Pro 2000 are coming back to New Jersey Motorsports Park for a tripleheader October 9-11 at Thunderbolt Raceway that will be called “Fall Thunder at Thunderbolt.” The Mazda MX-5 Cup Series will also accompany both series.

This all comes as IndyCar canceled its West Coast trips that were scheduled at Portland International Raceway and WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a press release on both Indy Pro 2000 and USF 2000 websites by Dan Anderson, the Owner, and CEO of Anderson Promotions, thanked New Jersey Motorsports Park President and Chief Operating Officer Brad Scott, “I would like to thank Brad Scott and his team for welcoming us with open arms to their first-class facility.” Anderson, a New Jersey native, added, “We look forward to working with Brad and his staff to build an exciting event not only for our teams and drivers but fans who will be introduced to the future stars of our sport. Plus, as a New Jersey native, it’s fun to finally have an event at a track in my home state.”

The USF 2000 and Indy Pro 2000 series are developmental racing leagues for the NTT IndyCar Series. Both series have featured today’s IndyCar stars like Conor Daly, Sage Karam, and Zach Veach, who raced at NJMP in 2010. The only other driver that competed at NJMP in 2010 for the Indy Pro 2000 series was IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar driver Conner De Phillippi.

More information regarding tickets and scheduling for the Fall Thunder at Thunderbolt will be announced in the coming weeks.
