After the IMSA Prototype Challenge and Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA raced this afternoon, it was the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge’s turn to race Road America in the Road America 120. Nate Stacy in the number 60 KohR Motorsports Aston Martin Vantage GT4 (GS) and Max Faulkner in the number 33 FASTMD Racing with Speed Syndicate Audi RS3 LMS (TCR) were the pole-sitters in their respected class.

In the GS class, Nate Stacy dominated early on in the race. Six drivers were fighting for the second position. One of them, the number 3 McLaren of Sheena Monk, got away from the other drivers, who were now battling for third. At turn six, Robby Foley turned Scott Maxwell as Maxwell ran him off the track and into the grass which led to Foley turning him.

Maxwell would again spin at turn six with no damage. Late in the race, the number 7 Porsche of Trent Hindman and the number 4 Mercedes AMG of Billy Johnson got together at turn 11. Johnson would then go off-track again in the Kettle Bottom.

The battle for the lead came down to Corey Lewis and Kyle Marcelli. Finally, Johnson would get loose at turn seven and crash, destroying the front and ending the race under caution. The number 3 McLaren of Sheena Monk and Corey Lewis would take the win in the GS Class.

In the TCR class, the number 21 Hyundai of Harry Gottsacker got together with teammate Michael Lewis at turn one with no damage. Early in the race, four cars were battling for the sixth position, and the result wasn’t kind to the number 37 Honda Civic of Shelby Blackstock as he tried to hit the brakes, he ended up going off of the track at turn five and his day was done with brake issues.

The number 33 FASTMD Racing with Speed Syndicate Audi RS3 LMS of Ryan Norman dominated the afternoon in the TCR class, taking the win under caution.

The next time the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge races again will be on August 23rd from Virginia International Raceway at 2:50 pm on NBC Sports Gold Track Pass.
