On Wednesday, the NTT IndyCar Series announced that the Music City Grand Prix has been added to the 2021 schedule. The race is scheduled to take place August 6-8. The track layout (click here to see track layout) will consist of 11 turns, a 2.17-mile circuit that will cross the Korean Veterans Memorial Bridge twice over the Cumberland River to the paddock area located at the parking lot of Nissan Stadium, home of the Tennessee Titans.
Burke Nihill, President and CEO of the Tennessee Titans on the partnership between Nashville and IndyCar, said, “The Tennessee Titans and Nissan Stadium are excited to partner with the Music City Grand Prix to bring the NTT INDYCAR SERIES to Nashville and the stadium campus. This is in keeping with our organizational goal of making our city, this venue, and our organization as versatile and as busy as possible.”
This will be the first time since 2008 that the series will race in Nashville. The series held its races at Nashville Super Speedway from 2001-08, with Scott Dixon winning the last three races at the track. Other drivers who won at the Super Speedway were Buddy Lazier, Alex Barron, Gil De Ferran, Tony Kannan, and Dario Franchitti.

The NTT IndyCar Series only has three races left in the season that will resume October 2nd and 3rd for the last doubleheader event of the season at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the IndyCar Harvest Grand Prix. The season will then wrap up in St. Petersburg, FL, for the Firestone Grand Prix on October 25th.
