The IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge concluded the doubleheader weekend Sunday morning with Race Two of the Acura Sports Car Challenge at Mid-Ohio. KOHR Motorsports Aston Martin team of Nate Stacy and Kyle Marcelli, who won Race One, were on the pole in the GS class. Over at the TCR class, L.A. Honda World Racing Honda Civic of Taylor Hagley and Ryan Eversley were on the pole.

Stacy led the first 22 laps of the race in the GS class as the first caution came out for contact between Russell Ward and Scott Maxwell that sent Maxwell off the track and into the tire barrier at turn four. Stacy went to pit road for service, and a driver change occurred with Kyle Marcelli taking over.

Tyler McQuarrie took over the lead just before the caution came out. During the caution, both classes went to pit road. The race resumed with an hour and nine minutes left in the race with James Clay (GS) and Max Faulkner (TCR) leading the race.

Clay had to serve a penalty on the restart, putting Murry in the lead. Murry would lose the lead to Alec Udell at turn six. With 45 minutes left, both classes went to pit road for scheduled stops. Kyle Marcelli (GS) and Tim Lewis (TCR) were the new leaders.

With 36 minutes left, Marcelli went to pit road as Nate Stacy went back into the car. Murry would take over the lead after Marcelli’s pit stop. With 25 minutes left, Murry was hit by Alec Udell at turn four, spinning Murry out as Stacy took over second place.

Udell served a penalty for that hit as Stacy took over the lead with 21 minutes left. A minute later, Ryan Eversley in the L.A. Honda World Racing Honda Civic had a 4.592-second lead before his car went up in smoke. He drove the car to pit road and would finish in seventh place. The new leader in the TCR class was Jon Morley and the Road Shagger Racing Audi.

Nate Stacy would lead the last fifteen laps to win by 6.473 seconds over Murrey in the GS class, and Jon Morley led the last thirteen laps to win by 1.557 seconds over Gabby Chaves in the TCR.

The next race for the Michelin Pilot Challenge will be on Friday, October 16th, from Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta at 3:30 pm on NBC Sports Gold Track Pass.
