The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship closed out the weekend at the Acura Sports Car Challenge Mid-Ohio Sunday afternoon. Dane Cameron and Helio Castroneves won the pole in DPi class. Jordan Taylor won the pole for Corvette Racing in the GTLM class, and Aaron Telitz won the pole in the GTD class.

Dane Cameron and Juan Pablo Montoya in Team Penske led the first 45 laps in the DPi class. In the GTLM class, with over two hours left, Corvette Racing teammates Jordan Taylor took over the lead at turn six from Oliver Gavin. Gavin had led the first 17 laps of the race. Robby Foley had damaged the front left quarter panel of the car after hitting Oliver Jarvis and came to a stop to bring out the full course yellow.

During the caution, all classes went to pit road. The race resumed with under two hours left. Montoya ran into trouble trying to get around Andy Lally at turn seven and would go in the grass and lose four positions as Pipo Derani was the new leader while Montoya settled for fifth.

Derani led fourteen laps until he went to pit road for service as Felipe Nasr took over the ride for Derani with Helio Castroneves now the leader. Castroneves went to pit road a lap later with an hour and sixteen minutes left. Once his stop was complete, Ryan Briscoe was the new leader for Wayne Taylor Racing. After Briscoe pitted a lap later, Ricky Taylor took over the lead.

The caution would come out for the No. 30 Audi car of Rob Ferriol as he was hit by Andy Lally, causing him to spin into the tire wall at turn six. Ferriol got the car going again, but the smoke was coming out of the car, and he spun, coming to a complete stop with over an hour left.

The race resumed with 54 minutes left. A lap later in the GTD class, Paul Holton hit Mario Farnbacher, sending him into the gravel pit. Farnbacher was able to escape the gravel pit but suffered a flat right-front tire.

With under 50 minutes left, Ricky Taylor took the lead away from teammate Juan Pablo Montoya at turn six. Once in the lead, Taylor started to pull away. Taylor would pit one more time along with Felipe Nasr to give Montoya the lead. Montoya would pit a lap later, handing the lead back to Taylor. The caution would come out again for the No. 85 DPi of Tristian Vautier, who came to a complete stop on the track.

The race restarted with 28 minutes left. With six minutes left, Montoya went into the grass approaching turn one and spun, dropping him to seventh. Upfront, Ricky Taylor led the last 29 laps to win the race in the DPi class by .607 seconds over Felipe Nasr.

Corvette Racing took the top two positions in the GTLM class with Antonio Garcia and Jordan Taylor leading 92 laps by 1.472 seconds over Tommy Milner. Jack Hawksworth took home the victory in the GTD class by .858 seconds over Lawson Aschenbach.

The next race for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship will be at Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval on Saturday, October 10th, at 8 pm on NBC Sports Gold Track Pass.
