Atlantic City FC and FC Motown End in a Draw 2-2

Atlantic City FC

After winning their opener in Delaware last week, the Atlantic City FC (1-0) looked to make it two wins in a row Saturday night in Montclair against FC Motown (1-0).

In the opening minute of the game, the Aces received a yellow card. However, that didn’t slow them down. They had the momentum early in the first half and created chances for themselves but could not convert. Then the momentum shifted to FC Motown. In the 36th minute, James Boot made a nice pass to former Ace Michael Bello for the goal and a 1-0 lead. FC Motown led 1-0 at halftime.

Atlantic City FC responded in the 48th minute on a corner kick. Niklas Laenger leaped up in the air to headbutt the ball into the net to tie the game 1-1.

The game got crazy in the final minutes of the game. A penalty was called against Atlantic City FC, thus rewarding FC Motown with a penalty kick. Michael Bello took the shot and gave FC Motown a 2-1 lead in the 92nd minute for his second goal of the game.

One minute later, the Aces were on the attack in FC Motown’s zone. Atlantic City FC responded with a goal by midfielder Roger Rojas-Goodbold. The linesmen waved off his initial goal for offsides. However, the head official deemed it a good goal. After a brief conversation, Goodbold’s goal counted, and the game was tied at 2-2. The game would end in a draw 2-2, with each team receiving one point.

Atlantic City FC will host Hershey FC next Saturday, May 22nd, at 6 pm from Egg Harbor Township High School’s Silver Eagle Stadium.
