On Tuesday, the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA) announced the return of the Independent Cup, scheduled for July 9th.  It will feature 36 clubs competing in nine regions. There will be nine current and future NISA clubs and one club from eight different amateur leagues.

Among those teams competing for the Cup is Atlantic City FC. They will be in the Mid-Atlantic Region along with the Maryland Bobcats FC, Steel Pulse FC, and Allentown United FC.

Atlantic City FC President Andrew Weilgus on the Aces joining the tournament, said, “It is a tremendous honor for us to be selected to the Independent Cup. It gives our players a chance to compete against new competition and further grow our brand.”

The Independent Cup was introduced last year as a regionalized competition. This Cup tournament allows both professional and amateur teams to compete with one another on a national stage.

NISA Executive Vice President Josh Prutch on the Independent Cup said, “The Independent Cup champions the independent spirit of open competition. Over the last year, we have seen competition after competition get shut down. The Independent Cup gives these clubs more opportunities to compete, develop and succeed – and that is why we expanded the field for 2021.”

The NISA Independent Cup schedule and streaming will be announced in the coming weeks. The teams that will be competing in the NISA Cup are listed below.
