Lehigh Valley shuts out Buffalo 4-0

Shortly after the first game’s conclusion, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (22-30) played game six at Trenton Thunder Ballpark versus the Buffalo Bisons (30-20). The IronPigs came back in game one to win 5-4.

Spencer Howard (0-0, 1.00 ERA) was on the mound for Lehigh Valley, while Buffalo sent Tommy Milone (0-0, 6.00 ERA) to the mound.

The game was scoreless in the first three innings until the top of the fourth inning. With runners on first and second, Lehigh Valley designated hitter Ryan Cordell hit an RBI double to left field, scoring a run that put the IronPigs up 1-0.

Then, IronPigs left fielder Mickey Moniak doubled to center field, bringing home two more runs 3-0. As Moniak was stealing third base, Bisons catcher Alejandro Kirk overthrew the third baseman Cullen Large, allowing Moniak to score for a 4-0 lead.

IronPigs pitcher Mike Adams closed out the game as Lehigh Valley won the second game 4-0.

The win went to Lehigh Valley starting pitcher Spencer Howard (5.0 IP, 1 H, 2 BB, 5 SO), and the loss went to Bisons pitcher Jackson McClelland (0.0 IP, 2 H, 4 ER, 1 BB).
