On Tuesday, the Edmonton Elks announced the signings of defensive back Josh Woodman, wide receiver Chris Osei-Kusi, running back Bruce Anderson, and linebacker Bryan Blunt.

Josh Woodman returns to Elks after spending the 2019 season with the BC Lions. The 29-year-old from Chatham, Ontario, was drafted by the Elks in the fifth round of the 2016 CFL Draft out of the University of Western Ontario. He spent three seasons with the Elks.

Woodman has played 42 games with 35 tackles, 16 special teams tackles, one sack, one interception, and one forced fumble.

Chris Osei-Kusi is a 23-year-old from Brampton, Ontario, and played college football at Queen’s (2015-18) and Windsor (2019). In 35 career games, Osei-Kusi caught 160 passes for 2,422 yards and ten touchdowns. The Montreal Alouettes drafted him in the fourth round of the 2019 CFL Draft. Last week, he was released by the Alouettes.

Bruce Anderson is a 24-year-old from Ruskin, FL, who played college at North Dakota State from 2015-18. He was a two-time FCS All-American. He played 52 games for the Bison and had 486 carries for 2,896 yards, 24 touchdowns, caught 32 passes for 448-yards, and seven touchdowns.

After college, he went undrafted in 2019 and signed with Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He also spent time with the Indianapolis Colts. In 2021, he played for the Jousters in The Spring League. He had four carries for 17-yards.

Bryan Blunt is a 26-year-old from New Orleans, LA. He played college at McNeese State in 2017-2018. He played 21 games with 145 tackles, 13 sacks, six passes defended, one forced fumble, three fumble recoveries, and one block. He was named the 2018 Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Year.

In 2019, he signed with the Washington Redskins and was released on August 31st. He would later sign with the Montreal Alouettes and did not appear in a game, and was released in June 2021.

The Elks are on a bye week, and their next game is next Tuesday, September 28th, against the Ottawa Redblacks at 7:30 pm on ESPN+.
