Romain Grosjean joins Andretti Autosport in 2022

Andretti Autosport announced on Friday that Dale Coyne w/Rick Ware Racing driver Romain Grosjean will drive the No. 28 DHL Honda for the 2022 season. Grosjean is in his rookie year after spending nine years in Formula 1.

Romain Grosjean raced for Lotus F1 and Haas F1 in his nine-year Formula 1 career. There, he had ten podium finishes.

Romain Grosjean’s statement on joining Andretti Autosport said. “I’m delighted to be joining Andretti Autosport and driving the No. 28 DHL Honda for next season. It’s a big honor to be joining such a great team as Andretti, anyone in the motorsport world knows the name Andretti. I’m super happy and proud to be racing with the team. I’m also very proud to be representing with DHL. I’ve known the DHL color on racing cars for a very long time. I couldn’t be more proud to represent such a great company in INDYCAR.”

Grosjean added, “I’m hoping that we are going to be very successful together, which is our aim on every side. I would like also to thank Dale Coyne Racing for giving me the opportunity to join INDYCAR. I’ve enjoyed the racing so much and it’s given me the change today to be racing with one of the most competitive and best teams in the world.”

The 35-year-old from Geneva, Switzerland, has competed in 12 of 15 IndyCar races, winning one pole and three podium finishes. He will take over the ride occupied by Ryan Hunter-Reay, who announced that he was leaving Andretti Autosport last week.

The NTT IndyCar Series concludes the 2021 season on Sunday, September 26th, from Long Beach at 3 pm on NBC.
