On Monday, the Montreal Alouettes signed veteran linebacker Frederic Plesius. The 33-year-old from Montreal, Quebec, was a second-round pick by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the 2012 CFL Draft out of Laval University. He won the Vanier Cup twice at Laval.

During his seven-year career, Plesius played for the Tiger-Cats, Alouettes in 2017 and 2019, and the Blue Bombers in 2018. He played in 85 games with 29 tackles, 74 special team tackles, one sack, and one interception.

As part of the CFL COVID protocol, Plesius was added to the suspended list for a mandatory quarantine period.

The Montreal Alouettes hosts the Ottawa Redblacks on Thanksgiving Day at 1 pm on ESPN+.
