Saskatchewan Roughriders sign wide receiver Duke Williams

On Monday, the Saskatchewan Roughriders announced the signing of former Buffalo Bills and Edmonton Eskimos wide receiver Duke Williams.

The 28-year-old from Los Angeles, California, played college at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and Auburn. At Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, he caught 118 passes for 2,028 yards and two touchdowns.

He transferred to Auburn, where he played ten games with 45 receptions for 730-yards and five touchdowns. He went undrafted in the 2016 NFL Draft. Later, he signed with the Los Angeles Rams. He was waived as part of the final cuts.

After the Rams, Williams joined the Edmonton Eskimos. He played 31 games in two seasons (2017-18) with 134 catches for 2,294 yards and 15 touchdowns.

In 2019, he signed with the Buffalo Bills. He played four games with 12 catches for 166-yards and one touchdown. He spent the 2020 season on the Bills practice squad. Williams was placed on injury reserved and released in August with an injury settlement.

The Roughriders are in action this Saturday, October 9th, against the Calgary Stampeders from Mosaic Stadium at 7 pm on ESPN+.
