Winnipeg Blue Bombers running back Andrew Harris had himself a game Friday night. He had 24 carries for 150 yards, two touchdowns, and one catch for 24 yards in a Blue Bombers 30-3 win over the Edmonton Elks. It was his 27th career 100-yard game. For the Blue Bombers, it was their sixth straight win.

Harris’s touchdowns came in the fourth quarter. He moved the Elks’ defense with some help from his offense for the first touchdown that went 13 yards. The second came with a juke move on the inside from the two-yard line.

Blue Bombers quarterback Zach Collaros went 16/27 for 207 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. His lone touchdown pass came in the first quarter, throwing a 16-yard touchdown pass to Nic Demski. Collaros also found a new target Kelvin McKnight, who replaced Kenny Lawler as he was suspended for impaired driving. The offense put up 401 yards in the game. McKnight caught four passes for 22 yards.

The Blue Bombers’ defense spoiled the return of Elks quarterback Trevor Harris. They scored two safeties in the first half, along with three sacks, one interception, and one fumble recovery.

Elks quarterback Trevor Harris went 9/22 for 87 yards. Backup quarterback Taylor Cornelius replaced him in the fourth quarter. Cornelius went 6/13 for 47 yards and one interception. James Wilder had eleven carries for 47 yards. Wide receiver Greg Ellingson led the receivers with three catches for 39 yards. The Elks offense only had 196 yards in the game.

Elks kicker Sean Whyte scored the team’s only points in the second quarter with a 32-yard field goal. However, the Elks’ defense could not stop the Blue Bombers and managed one interception. In addition, they did lose linebacker Derrick Moncrief late in the third quarter. Moncrief limped his way to the sidelines but did return in the fourth quarter.

Next week, these two teams will meet again from Commonwealth Stadium on Friday, October 15th, at 9 pm on ESPN+.
