On Monday, the Philadelphia Flyers had to submit their regular-season roster by the 5 pm deadline. The Flyers sent forward Garrett Wilson, forward Jackson Cates, defensemen Cam York, and defenseman Nick Seeler to the Lehigh Valley.
Garrett Wilson will enter his second season with the Phantoms. The 30-year-old played 27 games with one goal and eight assists. The Florida Panthers drafted him in the fourth round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Wilson played in 84 games in the NHL with the Panthers and Penguins. He had two goals and eight assists in four seasons in the NHL.
Jackson Cates will enter his first year with the Phantoms. He played four games with the Flyers and had an assist. Cates went to the Flyers after college with Minnesota-Duluth. He played in 96 games with 27 goals and 37 assists.
Cam York returns to the Phantoms after playing in eight games last year. He had two goals and three assists. He was called up by the Flyers and played the last three games of the season.
Nick Seeler enters his first year with the Phantoms. He did not play last year. During the 2019-20 season, he played with the Iowa Wild; he last played in six games with two assists. He later went to the Chicago Blackhawks and played in six games with one assist.
In the NHL, Seeler played in 105 games with two goals and ten assists. Seeler played in 112 games with the Iowa Wild in three seasons with two goals and seventeen assists.
This Wednesday, the Phantoms will wrap up the preseason against the Hershey Bears from the PPL Center at 7:05 pm.
