Stampeders add LB Brad Cowan

Calgary Stampeders

On Monday, the Calgary Stampeders signed former Ottawa Redblacks LB Brad Cowan. The 22-year-old from Ottawa, Ontario, played three games for the Redblacks this season.

Brad Cowan played college football at Wilfrid Laurier Golden Eagles. He played 23 games with 84 tackles, 9.5 sacks, three passes defended, and one forced fumble.

He played primarily on special teams and helped the team win the 2016 championship. He was a starter in 2017 and 2019. Unfortunately, he missed the 2018 season due to a wrist injury.

After college, he was drafted in the sixth round of the 2020 CFL Draft by the Ottawa Redblacks. He was released from the team on September 25th.

The Calgary Stampeders visit BC Place this Saturday, October 16th, at 7 pm on ESPN+.
