Lehigh Valley Phantoms lose Willman, Cates, and Seeler

Two days before the Lehigh Valley Phantoms start the 2021-22 season, the Philadelphia Flyers announced that the team recalled Max Willman, Jackson Cates, and Nick Seeler on Thursday. The Flyers open the season tomorrow night against the Vancouver Canucks.

Max Willman had one goal during the preseason in a win over the Penguins. The 26-year-old from Barnstable, MA, is entering his third pro season. He started his career with the Reading Royals for two seasons before moving up to the Phantoms. Willman has played in 54 games in two seasons with 12 goals and 13 assists for 25 points.

Jackson Cates and Nick Seeler did not appear with the Phantoms during the preseason. Jackson Cates played four games with the Flyers last season and had an assist. He played college hockey at Minnesota-Duluth. He played in 96 games with 27 goals and 37 assists.

Nick Seeler did not play last year. He last played in the 2019-20 season with the Iowa Wild. He last played in six games with two assists. Later, he went to the Chicago Blackhawks and played in six games with one assist.

In his NHL career, Seeler played in 105 games with two goals and ten assists. Seeler played in 112 games with the Iowa Wild in three seasons with two goals and seventeen assists.

The Phantoms start the regular season this Saturday, October 16th, at 6:05 pm against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on watchtheahl.com. AHL TV is offering a free preview from October 15th through the 17th.
