On Sunday, the Edmonton Elks traded quarterback Trevor Harris to the Montreal Alouettes for DE Antonio Simmons.
The 35-year-old from Waldo, Ohio, is a nine-year veteran and played six games for the Elks with 135 completions for 1.568 yards, six touchdowns, five interceptions, and 18 carries for 68 yards.
In his career, Harris won two Grey Cup titles in 2012 with Toronto and in 2016 with Ottawa. He has played in 139 games with 1,990 completions for 23,750 yards, 126 touchdowns, 57 interceptions, 199 carries for 768 yards, and nine touchdowns.
Montreal Alouettes General Manager Danny Maciocia on acquiring Harris said. “Trevor is a veteran who knows the league well and what it takes to win. We are pleased to have been able to complete this transaction. We are confident that Trevor will work well with our quarterbacks. We thank Antonio for his services and wish him well.”
Antonio Simmons is a 25-year-old from Jacksonville, Florida, and played 23 games in two seasons with the Alouettes. He had 52 tackles, five sacks, and one forced fumble.
He played college football at Georgia Tech for four years and had 83 tackles and seven sacks.
The Montreal Alouettes hosts the Toronto Argonauts on Friday, October 22nd, at 7:30 pm on ESPN+. The Edmonton Elks are on a bye week.
