On Monday, the Toronto Argonauts announced the releases of DL Eli Harold and LB Reshard Cliett.
Eli Harold is a 27-year-old from Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was in his first season with the Argonauts playing six games with six tackles, two sacks, and one forced fumble.
Eli Harold played for three years at the University of Virginia. He had 141 tackles, 17.5 sacks, and two interceptions. After college, he was drafted in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers.
In the NFL, Harold played in 61 games with the 49ers and Lions. He had 89 tackles, nine sacks, and one pass defended. After the Lions, he tried out with the Buffalo Bills and the Philadelphia Eagles before heading to the Argonauts.
LB Reshard Cliett is a 29-year-old from Thomasville, Georgia. He played for four years at the University of South Florida. Cliett played in 42 games with 139 tackles, nine sacks, seven passes defended one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
After college, he was a sixth-round pick by the Houston Texans in the 2015 NFL Draft. However, he didn’t play for the Texans due to a knee injury. After the Texans, he had stints with the Broncos, Jets, Cardinals, Titans, Chiefs, and Vikings. In 2020, he played for the Dallas Renegades of the XFL before the league shut down. Reshard Cliett played in one game for the Argonauts this year.
