On Wednesday, the Toronto Argonauts announced the signings of RB Cameron Scarlett and OL Martez Ivey.
Cameron Scarlett is a 25-year-old from Portland, Oregon, who played for four years at Stanford University. He played in 50 games with 409 carries for 1,676 yards, 24 touchdowns, 41 catches for 523-yards, and one touchdown.
After college, he went undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft and signed with the Tennessee Titans. He was cut in training camp. This year, he had a tryout with the Seattle Seahawks. In his only preseason game with the Seahawks, he had one carry for seven yards.
Martez Ivey is a 26-year-old from Apopka, Florida. He played college football at the University of Florida. He played in 49 games from 2015-18. In 2015, he was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team by the conference’s coaches.
After college, he went undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft and signed with the New England Patriots but was cut during training camp.
In 2020, he played eight games for the Tampa Bay Vipers of the XFL before the season was suspended. In 2021, he signed with the Carolina Panthers but was waived during training camp.
