Lehigh Valley Phantoms

On Monday, the Philadelphia Flyers announced that defenseman Cooper Zech was loaned to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

The 22-year-old from South Lyon, Michigan, played college hockey at Ferris State University. He played one season before turning pro. In his only season with the Bulldogs, he played in 36 games with eight goals and 20 assists, being the first freshman in 30 years to lead the Bulldogs in scoring.

After leaving the Bulldogs, he joined the Providence Bruins for three seasons and played in 78 games with three goals and 22 assists. He signed with the Flyers in the offseason but suffered an upper-body injury during training camp.

The Lehigh Valley Phantoms are on the road Wednesday night against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at 7:05 pm.
