A day after the Saskatchewan Roughriders took down the Calgary Stampeders 20-17, the team bolstered its secondary on Sunday with the signing of former Colts safety Rolan Milligan.
The 27-year-old from Lake Wales, Florida, played college football at Reedley College, UAB, and Toledo. In UAB, he played 12 games and had 54 tackles and two sacks. After UAB shut down its football program, Milligan transferred to Toledo. In his senior year, he had 48 tackles, three passes defended, two interceptions, and three forced fumbles with the Rockets.
After college, Milligan went undrafted in the 2016 NFL Draft and signed with the Dallas Cowboys. However, he was cut during training camp.
In 2017, he signed with the Detroit Lions and spent most of his time on the practice squad. In 2018, he signed with the Colts and was on their practice squad. Milligan was waived by the Colts in 2019 and was brought back and activated to the roster. He played in eleven games with the Colts and made fifteen tackles. Milligan was waived again by the Colts in 2020.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders visit Percival Molson Memorial Stadium on Saturday, October 30th, against the Montreal Alouettes at 7 pm on ESPN+.
Milligan will be moved to the suspended list as he completes his COVID-19 quarantine
