After losing last week at home, the Calgary Stampeders rebounded Friday night in Ottawa with a 26-13 win over the Redblacks to improve their record at 6-6.
Calgary Stampeders quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell went 22/29 for 242-yards. He became the 18th quarterback in CFL history to eclipse 30,000 passing yards. He threw a 39-yard pass to Colton Hunchak that set up a three-yard touchdown run by Ka’Deem Carey that tied the game 10-10 with 12:35 left in the second quarter.
The Stampeders’ second touchdown came late in the third quarter. On second and one, backup quarterback Jake Maier came in for a quarterback sneak. Instead, he scrambled out of the pocket to find Kamar Jordan for a 15-yard touchdown for a 22-13 lead with 27-seconds left.
Kicker Rene Paredes was 4/4 with his longest field goal at 47-yards. Stampeders running back Ka’Deem Carey had sixteen carries for 103-yards and one touchdown. Kamar Jordan led the receivers with six catches for 79-yards and one touchdown. The defense had five sacks, two of those from Mike Ross, and one forced fumble. Calgary Stampeders finished with 375-yards on offense
Ottawa Redblacks quarterback Caleb Evans was 15/29 for 173-yards, one touchdown, and eight carries for 68-yards. Evans’s only touchdown happened late in the first quarter, when he threw the ball up in the air, leaving Kenny Stafford to jump up in the air to catch the touchdown with a Stampeders defender on him. The Redblacks led 10-3 with 18-seconds left. It was their only lead of the game.
Kicker Lewis Ward was 2/2, with his longest field goal being 24-yards. Redblacks running back De’Lance Turner touched the ball 13 times for 55-yards. Nathaniel Behar led the receivers with five catches for 98-yards, and the defense had no sacks but had one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. The Redblacks offense had a total of 296-yards on offense.
