A day after clinching a playoff spot, the Saskatchewan Roughriders signed DB Tyree Robinson on Sunday.

Tyree Robinson is a 27-year-old from San Diego, California. He played safety at the University of Oregon. In four years with the Ducks, he played in 52 games with 201 tackles, two sacks, 23 passes, defended four fumble recoveries, and six interceptions.

In his senior year, he returned an interception for a 100-yard touchdown in the Las Vegas Bowl, but the Ducks lost 38-28 against Boise State. In 2017, he won the Todd Doxey Award (Team Award for Character and Service).

After college, Robinson went undrafted in the 2018 NFL Draft. He signed with the Dallas Cowboys and spent the season on the practice squad. In December, he was signed off the Cowboys practice squad by the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers released him in August of 2019.

In 2020, he signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. After the cancellation of the season, he opt-out of his contract. He later re-signed with the Tiger-Cats in October 2020 but was released in July of 2021. Robinson will head to the suspended list as he completes COVID-19 quarantine.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders play the Edmonton Elks from Commonwealth Stadium on Friday, November 5th, at 9:45 pm on ESPN+.
