BC Lions sign K Nick Vogel

The BC Lions on Tuesday announced the signing of kicker Nick Vogel. The 26-year-old from Jacksonville, Florida, played 41 games in three seasons at the University of Alabama-Birmingham. He made 47 of 64 field goals (73.4%) for the Dragons.

He is UAB’s third-leading scorer in team history (269) and holds the school record for career PAT percentage (.977, 128-of-131)

After college, he went undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft and signed with the Baltimore Ravens. He was released before training camp. Then, he had a tryout with the Green Bay Packers but was never signed.

Nick Vogel will enter the mandatory COVID quarantine protocol as per CFL rules.

The BC Lions are at Tim Hortons Field against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Friday, November 5th, at 7 pm on ESPN+.
