On Monday, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats activated FB Felix Garand-Gauthier and OL Jordan Murray from the six-game injured list.
Felix Garand-Gauthier is a 26-year-old from Mirabel, Quebec. He played college football at Laval and was drafted by the Tiger-Cats in the fifth round of the 2021 CFL Draft. Gauthier played nine games this year for the Tiger-Cats with one carry for one yard.
Jordan Murray is a 24-year-old from Coppell, Texas, and played 44 games at North Texas. He went undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft and tried out for the Seattle Seahawks. Murray has played in seven games with the Tiger-Cats.
To make room for both players, the Tiger-Cats released linebackers, Jersey Henry and Ben Whiting.
Jersey Henry is a 26-year-old from LaSalle, Quebec, who played college football at Concordia. He played 23 games over three seasons (2017-19) with the Stingers and had 119 tackles, three sacks, five pass breakups, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries. Henry played in the 2019 U Sports East-West Bowl.
After college, he was drafted by the Montreal Alouettes in the sixth round of the 2020 CFL Draft. However, he was cut during training camp.
Ben Whiting is a 24-year-old from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and played college football at the University of Saskatchewan. He played 46 games in five seasons (2015-19) with the Huskies, tallying 259.5 tackles, 12 pass breakups, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, one interception, and three sacks. He helped the Huskies win the 2018 Hardy Cup as Canada West champions.
After college, Whiting was drafted by the Montreal Alouettes in the seventh round of the 2019 CFL Draft. After being cut by the Alouettes, he returned to the University of Saskatchewan for his final season. Whiting also had a tryout with the Calgary Stampeders this year but was released.
