On Friday, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers released wide receiver Naaman Roosevelt from the practice squad.
The 33-year-old from Buffalo, New York, played 67 games in five seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He caught 301 passes for 4,134 yards and 20 touchdowns.
Before joining the Roughriders, he went undrafted in the 2010 NFL Draft out of Buffalo. He played 16 games in two seasons with the Buffalo Bills, catching 25 passes for 396-yards, one touchdown, and one carry for three yards.
After being cut by Buffalo, he was on the practice squad for the Browns, and Lions, and did a second stint with the Bills. He signed with the Roughriders in 2015.
In 2017, Roosevelt caught 75 passes for 1,035 yards and eight touchdowns. He was named a CFL West All-Star.
In 2020, he signed with the Montreal Alouettes. However, the season was canceled due to the pandemic and was released in July 2021. In August 2021, he signed with the Blue Bombers.
