Dallas Cowboys release K Lirim Hajrullaha

On Tuesday, the Dallas Cowboys released former Hamilton Tiger-Cats kicker Lirim Hajrullaha according to NFL Insider Aaron Wilson.

The 31-year-old from Gjilan, Kosovo, was on the Cowboys’ practice squad. He appeared for the Cowboys in Week 10 when they defeated the Atlanta Falcons 43-2. Hajrullaha made five extra points.

He went undrafted in the 2014 NFL Draft out of Western Ontario and signed with the Blue Bombers. He played 35 games in two seasons with the Blue Bombers, making 62 field goals with his longest field goal for 53-yards in 2015.

In 2016, he signed with the Toronto Argonauts. He played 36 games in two seasons, making 84 field goals with his longest field goal for 53-yards in 2016. In 2017, he made 47 field goals, including kicking the game-winning field goal in the 105th Grey Cup over the Calgary Stampeders 27-24.

In 2018, he signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He played 36 games in two seasons, kicking 93 field goals with his longest field goal for 56-yards in 2019. The Tiger-Cats released him to pursue an opportunity in the NFL.

After being released by the Carolina Panthers, Hajrullaha played for the Generals of The Spring League (TSL) in 2021. He led the TSL with 12 field goals, including going 5/5 with his longest field goal for 59 yards which set a new TSL record and single-game record for field goals. Hajrullaha was named the South Division Play of the Week.
