Former Blue Bombers quarterback Chris Streveler released by Cardinals

On Tuesday, the Arizona Cardinals released former Winnipeg Blue Bombers quarterback Christ Streveler after signing former Penn State quarterback Trace McSorley.

The 26-year-old from Naperville, Illinois, was in his second season with the Cardinals. He played seven games with 17 completions for 141 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and seven carries for 21-yards.

He recently appeared for the Cardinals in Week 10 against the Carolina Panthers. Streveler went 6-9 for 36 yards and was sacked two times.

Streveler went undrafted in the 2018 NFL Draft and signed with the Blue Bombers. He played 35 games in two seasons, with the Blue Bombers completing 242 passes for 2,698 yards, 19 touchdowns, 19 interceptions, 204 carries for 1,167 yards, and 22 touchdowns.

Streveler was a key contributor to the Blue Bombers’ 2019 Grey Cup championship team. He played 17 games with 156 completions for 1,564 yards, eight touchdowns, 14 interceptions, 127 carries for 726 yards, and 12 touchdowns.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will host the Western Final on Sunday, December 5th, against the winner of the Calgary Stampeders/Saskatchewan Roughriders game.
