Ottawa Redblacks extends three more players

On Thursday, the Ottawa Redblacks continued to re-sign players ahead of the 2022 season. The latest players to re-sign with the team are linebackers Dwayne Norman, and Shaheed Salmon, and defensive back Ranthony Texada to contract extensions.

Dwayne Norman is a 28-year-old from Jacksonville, Florida, and played college football at Duke University. He wrapped up his first season with the Redblacks after spending three seasons with the Calgary Stampeders.

Norman played nine games this year with three tackles, three special team tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble. Norman has played in 18 games with four tackles, nine special team tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble.

Shaheed Salmon is a 25-year-old from Tampa, Florida, and played college football at Samford. He wrapped up his second season with the Redblacks playing 17 games with four tackles, 12 special team tackles, and two forced fumbles.

Ranthony Texada is a 26-year-old from Smyrna, Georgia, who played college football at TCU. Texada wrapped up his first season with the Redblacks, playing in three games with eleven tackles, including a career-high six tackles against the Montreal Alouettes on November 19th.

Texada joined the Redblacks after playing five games for the New York Guardians with 16 tackles and one sack.

While at TCU, Texada played 43 games in four seasons with 117 tackles, five sacks, three interceptions, 33 pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one block.
