On Tuesday, Philadelphia Flyers General Manager Chuck Fletcher confirmed that Lehigh Valley Phantoms right-winger Tyson Forester had shoulder surgery.
“Foerster’s got a long road ahead of him,” said Fletcher. “I’m not sure the exact time frame, but it’s months. I think the hope would be we can get him back healthy and get him some games before the end of the year.”
Players that have shoulder surgery are out for 5-8 months. That would end Forester’s season. It’s the same injury that put Morgan Frost out for the season last year.
Tyson Foerster injured his shoulder on November 6th against the Charlotte Checkers when he dove to keep the puck in the zone before sustaining the injury.
This year, Forester played nine games with two goals and one assist (3 points). The 19-year-old from Alliston, Ontario, had a breakout rookie with the Phantoms, playing 24 games with ten goals and seven assists (17 points).
The Phantoms next game is on Friday, December 3rd, against the Charlotte Checkers at 7:05 pm. The Phantoms are having a WFMZ-69 Coat Drive Night also featuring $2 Miller Lites on special.
