On Wednesday, the American Hockey League (AHL) announced that tonight’s game between the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and the Belleville Senators is postponed due to a league COVID protocol affecting the Belleville Senators.
The Phantoms announced on their Twitter account that fans with tickets for tonight’s game should hold on to their tickets as they will be good for the rescheduled game. A make-up date has yet to be determined.
In addition to the game being postponed, the Philadelphia Flyers recalled forward Jackson Cates under emergency conditions.
The 24-year-old from Stillwater, Minnesota, played 19 games for the Phantoms with two goals and four assists for six points.
This past Sunday, he assisted Garrett Wilson’s goal against the Hartford Wolf Pack in a 4-3 win. His last goal came on November 6th against the Charlotte Checkers.
He signed a two-year contract with the Flyers on April 13th. Cates played 96 games in three seasons at the University of Minnesota-Duluth with 27 goals and 37 assists for 64 points.
Ten days after signing the contract, he made his Flyers debut. Cates played four games with the Flyers and had an assist. He assisted Oskar Lindblom’s goal.
The Phantoms next game will be on Friday, December 17th, from the XL Center against the Hartford Wolf Pack at 7 pm.
