The BC Lions extended offensive linemen David Knevel and Andrew Peirson on Thursday while signing Matt Guevremont, Tyler Packer, and Jesse Lawson.
David Knevel is a 27-year-old from Brantford, Ontario, and played college football in Nebraska. Knevel played 14 games this season.
He is a versatile o-line and, in week three, played left tackle after starter Joel Figueroa went down with an injury. Knevel has played 33 games in three seasons with the Lions.
Andrew Peirson is a 27-year-old from Kingston, Ontario, and played college football at Gannon University in Erie, PA. Peirson played 14 games this year. Peirson earned the CFL’s Tom Pate Award for outstanding sportsmanship and service to the community. Peirson has played 20 games in three seasons with the Lions.
Matt Guevremont is a 26-year-old from Ottawa, Ontario, and played college football at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He was the Lions’ fifth-round pick in the 2020 CFL Draft. Guevremont was on the Lions’ practice squad this year.
Tyler Packer is a 22-year-old from Calgary, Alberta, and played U Sports at the University of Calgary. The Lions drafted him in the sixth round of the 2021 CFL Draft but returned to Calgary to play his senior season.
Packer became the first rookie to start at right tackle since former Lion Kirby Fabien in 2009. He earned the Canada West Rookie of the Year honors and helped the Dinos capture the 2019 Vanier Cup championship.
Jesse Lawson is a 25-year-old from Vancouver, British Columbia, and played U Sports Carleton University. He played nine games for the Ravens. He was drafted by the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the 2020 CFL Draft but was released by the team in July 2021.
