The Montreal Alouettes re-signed defensive back Najee Murray and offensive lineman David Brown to two-year extensions on Friday.
Alouettes General Manager Danny Maciocia on re-signing Murray and Brown said. “We are very happy to bring back two players, which will allow us to have success in 2022. Both of them did a great job for us, all while being versatile. They are great assets on the field and in the locker room.”
Najee Murray is a 27-year-old from Steubenville, Ohio, and played college football at Kent State. This year, Murray played ten games with 24 tackles, two special teams tackles, three interceptions, and one touchdown. Murray has played 20 games in three seasons with 46 tackles, five special teams tackles, five interceptions, and two touchdowns.
David Brown is a 27-year-old from London, Ontario, and played U Sports at Western University. Brown played ten games this year, including starting at center in Montreal’s Eastern Semi-Final game against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
The Alouettes finished atop the CFL with 5,205 net offensive yards and 2,023 rushing yards. Brown has played fifteen games in two seasons.
