The B.C. Lions announced punter Stefan Flintoft has re-signed with the team on Thursday. Flintoft signed with the Lions as a free agent in 2020, but the CFL season was canceled.
The 26-year-old from Santa Monica, California, debuted in Week 3 and was the CFL leader in punts with 48.3 yards per punt and third overall in the league with a 37.3-yard net average. Flintoft also averaged 61.4 yards over 37 total kickoffs.
The B.C. Lions nominated Stefan Flintoft for CFL Most Outstanding Special Teams Player.
Flintoft attended UCLA and averaged 43.8 yards per punt, which was good for third all-time in Bruins history. After college, he tried out for the Denver Broncos.
