On Thursday, the Toronto Argonauts re-signed DL Robbie Smith, OL Dariusz Bladek, LB Alex Chevrier, and DL Dewayne Hendrix to contract extensions.

Robbie Smith is a 24-year-old from Brampton, Ontario, who played 14 games this year with 24 tackles, six special team tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble.

The Argonauts drafted him in the second round of the 2019 CFL Draft out of Wilfrid University. Smith has played 28 games in two seasons with 39 tackles, seven special team tackles, five sacks, and two forced fumbles.

Dariusz Bladek is a 27-year-old from Clifton, New Jersey, who played ten games in his first year with the Argonauts. The Saskatchewan Roughriders drafted him in the second round of the 2017 CFL Draft out of Bethune-Cookman University. Bladek has played in 55 games in four seasons with the Roughriders and Argonauts.

Alex Chevrier is a 28-year-old from Pointe-Claire, Quebec, went to college at Sherbrooke. He was drafted in the seventh round of the 2017 CFL Draft by the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Chevrier played ten games for the Alouettes and Argonauts with ten tackles and four special team tackles.

He has played special teams for the Roughriders and the Montreal Alouettes. Alexandre Chevrier spent three seasons with the Roughriders before signing with Alouettes earlier this year. He appeared in four games and made two tackles. In his three seasons on special teams, Chevrier played 38 games and has 30 tackles on special teams.

Dewayne Hendrix is a 25-year-old from O’Fallon, Illinois, wrapped up his first season with the Argonauts, playing six games with nine tackles and one sack.

In the 2019 NFL Draft, he went undrafted and was on the Miami Dolphins practice squad. In 2020, Hendrix signed with the St. Louis Battlehawks of the XFL. In five games, he had four tackles and one sack.

In addition to the re-signings, the Argonauts released wide receiver Martavis Bryant. The 30-year-old from Calhoun Falls, South Carolina, did not play a game for the Argonauts.
