On Monday, the American Hockey League (AHL) announced the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and Cleveland Monsters game scheduled for this Wednesday at the PPL Center was postponed due to COVID protocol affecting the Cleveland Monsters.

Additionally, the AHL announced that makeup dates have not been determined. Fans that have ticket questions are to contact ticketsales@phantomshockey.com.

In addition to the postponed game, the Philadelphia Flyers recalled goalie Felix Sandstrom and forwards Jackson Cates and Gerry Mayhew to the Taxi Squad.

These call-ups were due to Carter Hart, Derick Brassard, and Scott Laughton going on the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol list.

Jackson Cates is a 24-year-old from Stillwater, Minnesota, who played 20 games for the Phantoms with two goals and four assists for six points.

Cates was recalled by the Flyers on December 9th and played two games. He scored his first NHL goal on December 16th against the Montreal Canadiens.

Gerry Mayhew is a 28-year-old from Wyandotte, Michigan, who has played 24 games for the Phantoms with nine goals and seven assists (16 points).

            Felix Sandstrom is a 24-year-old from Gavle, Sweden, played 15 games this year with a record of 3-7-3-1, making 355 saves (.896%), and allowed 41 goals (3.08 GAA).

Sandstrom played 28 games for the Phantoms with a 9-10-6-1 record with 709 saves (.902%) and allowed 77 goals (3.08 GAA).

The Phantoms next game will be on Friday, December 31st, against the Utica Comets at 5 pm.
