Nick Marshall and Micah Teitz ink new deals with the Saskatchewan Roughriders

The Saskatchewan Roughriders re-signed defensive back Nick Marshall and linebacker Micah Teitz to contract extensions on Tuesday.

Nick Marshall played 14 games this year with 30 tackles, three interceptions, and one touchdown. Marshall has played 44 games in three seasons for the Roughriders with 95 tackles, 11 interceptions, four touchdowns, and one forced fumble.

Before joining the Roughriders in April 2018, Marshall went undrafted in the 2015 NFL Draft out of Auburn. In 2014, he helped the Tigers win the National Championship over the Oregon Ducks. Marshall played 21 games in two seasons for the Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Jets with 18 tackles, one pass defended, and two forced fumbles.

Micah Teitz played 13 games this year with 64 tackles, seven special teams tackles, and three sacks. The Roughriders drafted Teitz in the second round of the 2018 CFL Draft out of the University of Calgary. In three seasons with the Roughriders, Teitz played 40 games with 70 tackles, 25 special teams tackles, and three sacks.

The Roughriders open the 2022 season on Saturday, June 11th, against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
