The Toronto Argonauts re-signed offensive lineman Shane Richards to a contract extension on Tuesday.
The 26-year-old from Kingston, Jamaica, was the Argonauts in the first-round pick in the 2019 CFL Draft out of Oklahoma State. While at Oklahoma State, he won the 2018 AutoZone Liberty Bowl over the Missouri Tigers. Richards played 14 games this year. He has played 22 games in two seasons with the Argonauts.
In his rookie year in 2019, he played eight games before suffering a groin injury that kept him out of ten games.
The Argonauts open the 2022 season on Thursday, June 16th, against the Montreal Alouettes.
