Winnipeg Blue Bombers re-sign eight players

On Tuesday, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers re-signed the following players for the 2022 season:

Offensive Lineman Jalen Burks

Kicker Ali Mourtada

Wide receiver Kelvin McKnight

 Defensive Back Demerio Houston

 Defensive Tackle Ricky Walker

Linebacker Robbie Lowes

Linebacker Les Maruo

Running back Kyle Borsa

Jalen Burks did not play a game this year. However, he was on the Toronto Argonauts, and Winnipeg Blue Bombers practice squads.

Ali Mourtada played five games with the Blue Bombers, making 8-15 field goals with his longest field goal for 43 yards.

Kelvin McKnight played eight games for the Blue Bombers with 15 catches for 96 yards.

Demerio Houston played four games this year with seven tackles and three special team tackles.

Ricky Walker played seven games with eight tackles and one sack. In 2020, Walker played five games for the Tampa Bay Vipers of the XFL with eight tackles and one sack. 

Robbie Lowes played two games this year. In 2018, Lowes finished fourth in tackles (27 solos, eight assisted) and 1.5 sacks at the University of Regina.

Les Maruo played seven games on special teams with six tackles this year. Maruo played 23 games at the University of Texas-San Antonio with 98 tackles, 3.5 sacks, two passes defended, two fumble recoveries, and one interception.

Kyle Borsa did not play a game for the Blue Bombers. Borsa played 22 games in three seasons at the University of Regina with 195 carries for 1,037 yards, seven touchdowns, 43 catches for 436 yards, and three touchdowns.
