Edmonton Elks lock up Danny Vandervoort and Josh Woodman

On Wednesday, the Edmonton Elks announced that wide receiver Danny Vandervoort and defensive back Josh Woodman have signed contract extensions for the 2022 season. In addition, the Elks signed long snapper Zachary Greenberg to a two-year extension.

Danny Vandervoort played 13 games for the Elks in his first season with three catches for 54-yards and two touchdowns.

Vandervoort was drafted in the first round of the 2017 CFL Draft by the BC Lions. In 39 career games, he has four catches for 79-yards and two touchdowns.

Josh Woodman played seven games in his second stint for the Elks with one special teams tackle. The Elks (then known as the Eskimos) drafted Woodman in the fifth round of the 2016 CFL Draft. In 49 career games, Woodman has 35 tackles, 17 special teams tackles, one sack, one interception, and one forced fumble.

Zachary Greenberg played one game for the Montreal Alouettes. Greenberg was on the Elks training camp roster but was released. In 2021, he spent time with the Montreal Alouettes and Ottawa Redblacks.

Greenberg attended the University of Minnesota Crookston from 2015 to 2017 and served as the team’s long snapper and short snapper. In 2019, he spent time with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
