Winnipeg Blue Bombers re-sign veteran DT Jake Thomas

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers re-signed veteran defensive tackle Jake Thomas to a one-year contract extension. Thomas was scheduled to be a free agent on February 8th.

Jake Thomas played 14 games in 2021 with 15 tackles and four sacks as the Blue Bombers won their second straight Grey Cup championship. Thomas recorded a sack in both the Western Final and Grey Cup. The Blue Bombers drafted Thomas in the fourth round of the 2012 CFL Draft out of Acadia.

Thomas will enter his tenth year with the Blue Bombers, playing 151 games with 129 tackles, three special teams tackles, 22 sacks, one interception, and three forced fumbles.
