Saskatchewan Roughriders signs three players, release Brayden Lenius

On Friday, the Saskatchewan Roughriders re-signed wide receiver Paul McRoberts and fullback Albert Awachie while signing fullback James Tuck. The Roughriders released wide receiver Brayden Lenius from his contract to pursue an opportunity in the NFL.

Paul McRoberts played three games in 2021 with ten catches for 92 yards. Before joining the Roughriders, he was signed by the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent and played two games with one catch for six yards.

At Southeast Missouri State (2012-15), he caught 175 passes for 2,435 yards and 29 touchdowns which broke the RedHawks record for career touchdowns.

Albert Awachie played 12 games in 2021 with five special teams tackles. Awachie will enter his fifth season with the Roughriders. In 36 career games, he has two catches for 12 yards, six special teams tackles, and one kickoff return for seven yards.

James Tuck played 14 games in 2021 with the Edmonton Elks. He caught three passes for 45-yards, one tackle, and four special teams tackles. The Montreal Alouettes drafted him in the fourth round of the 2014 CFL Draft out of York University.

In 72 career games for the Alouettes (2014-16), Winnipeg Blue Bombers (2016), Toronto Argonauts (2017), and Edmonton Eskimos/Elks (2017-21). Tuck has three catches for 45-yards, one carry for five yards, two tackles, 50 special teams tackles, and two forced fumbles.

Brayden Lenius played 14 games in 2021 with 37 catches for 471 yards and four touchdowns. The Roughriders drafted Lenius in the second round of the 2019 CFL Draft out of New Mexico. In two seasons with the Roughriders, Lenius has 39 catches for 475 yards and four touchdowns.
