On Thursday, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers brought back offensive lineman Jermarcus Hardrick to a one-year contract extension. He was scheduled to be a free agent on February 8th.
Jermarcus Hardrick played eleven games in 2021, including winning his second Grey Cup championship with the Blue Bombers. Hardrick has played 98 career games with the BC Lions (12 games), Saskatchewan Roughriders (8 games), and Winnipeg Blue Bombers (78 games).
Hardrick was named a CFL All-Star in 2021 and is a two-time CFL West All-Star in 2017 and 2021. He will enter his sixth season with the Blue Bombers.
Blake Jackson returns to the Blue Bombers after an injury sidelined him for the season. After going undrafted in the 2018 NFL Draft, Jackson was on the Calgary Stampeders roster but was cut at the end of training camp.
He later signed with the Cleveland Browns and was on their practice squad. In the fourth preseason game, he caught one pass for 22-yards and one touchdown against the Detroit Lions.
Jackson had a breakout year in 2020 with the Houston Roughnecks of the XFL with five catches for 50 yards and one touchdown in five games.
