On Monday, the Saskatchewan Roughriders re-signed defensive lineman A.C. Leonard to a two-year extension to keep him in Saskatchewan through the 2023 season.
A.C. Leonard played eleven games in 2021 for the Roughriders with 41 tackles, 11 sacks, one interception, and one forced fumble. In the playoffs, Leonard had seven tackles and two pass knockdowns.
Leonard went to the CFL in 2015 with the BC Lions after spending time in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings (2014), the FXFL’s Brooklyn Bolts (2014), Hudson Valley Fort (2015), and the Arena Football League with the New Orleans Voodoo (2014-15), and Jacksonville Sharks (2016).
In 84 career games with the BC Lions (2015), Saskatchewan Roughriders (2016-17), Ottawa Redblacks (2018), and the Saskatchewan Roughriders (2019-21), Leonard has 201 tackles, three special teams tackles, 36 sacks, one interception, and five forced fumbles.
The Roughriders open the 2022 season on June 11th against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
